fixpath

    PATHN = FIXPATH (PATHSTR)

    Checks the string PATHSTR to see if it ends in FILESEP ('/' on the Unix
    platform, ':' on Macintosh OS9, '\' on Windows).  PATHN is simply PATHSTR with a FILESEP 
    attached at the end if necessary.
